GAS GIS Technician I
Salary Range $40,872 - $61,360

Position available for person to perform various engineering tasks which include updating and maintaining the accuracy of the Gas Department's Spatial Database Engine layers; adding base map features for proposed drawings in GIS; performing field checks of GIS data utilizing visual surveys and GPS unit in order to ensure accuracy; developing and updating related GIS procedures and documentation; developing cartographic products and tabular reports from GIS databases as appropriate; providing assistance with the support, setup, and configuration of GIS systems and applications; using GIS to prepare maps, project plans, and facility drawings; gathering and importing GPS data points into GIS system for use in generating and updating maps. The successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, must work in a team environment, and be knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and standard office software.  Knowledge of and experience in the use of ESRI ArcGIS software required.  

Qualified candidate should have completed an associate degree in computer science, GIS, geography, drafting, or related engineering or technical field.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
